"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." (Edmund burke)
WHAT
Camp U Leadership is a non-profit organization under the direction of WIN-CULTURE CONSULTING, LLC. We have partnered with the UHSAA & WHSAA to facilitate Utah's and Wyoming's annual leadership camp for elite student-athletes. It is our shared mission to connect elite student-athletes and thoroughly study timeless concepts that will undoubtedly develop exceptional leaders.
Why
Consequential Age: The decisions youth make during adolescent years will in large part determine how the rest of their lives will play out.
Decision Making: Learning the importance of prioritizing to make positive, long-lasting decisions. Life--in it's simplest and yet most complex situations--is based on making decisions. With the freedom that we have been endowed with, it is our ability to choose our desired destiny!
Distractions: Student-athletes (along with all youth) are widely targeted with the intent to manipulate. It is a legitimate struggle for adolescents to manage today's complex schedules and determine where to invest their time, talents, and interests.
TODAY'S HARSH REALITY
1) High School Dropouts: The U.S. Census Bureau reported in 2011 that 9% of 16-24 year olds have dropped out of school.
2) Drugs: In 2010, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) discovered that 50% of high school seniors report some use of an illegal drug during their life.
3) Teenage Pregnancy: Every year, almost 750,000 U.S. women aged from 15-19 become pregnant. The National Survey of Family Growth 2006-2008 reported that by age 19, 70% of teens have had sexual intercourse. (The Alan Guttmacher Institute, New York, 2011)
4) Depression: It is understood that about 20% of all teenagers will at one point experience depression before they reach adulthood. This percentage continues to rise.
5) Suicide: The National Center for Health Statistics states that between the ages of 15-24, there were almost 5,000 suicides. Roughly every 2 hours a person under the age of 25 commits suicide.
6) Crime: The U.S. Department of Justice reports that in 2008, 2.11 million persons younger than 18 were arrested.
We understand that although the above concerns may seem daunting, they can in fact be defied. As a Camp U staff, we have witnessed the difference one individual can make. We are confident that when Camp U attendees adopt the principles discussed and implemented them into their lives, they will become those unique individuals that this world desperately needs.

HOW
Through the process of vertical dissemination, we equip elite student-athletes with the tools needed to establish a winning culture through deliberate leadership practices, which empowers influencers of the highest potential to enhance the culture and performance of the entire organization or group.
MISSION STATEMENT
Developing elite student-athletes into tomorrow's leaders.
Discovering how to be successful and influential in others' lives requires a lot of time, effort, and experience. As the Camp U team, it is our goal to equip high school student-athletes with a complete, battle-tested formula. The methods studied are principles that have been around for ages. What we have done is created a blueprint pieced together with timeless concepts that will undoubtedly manufacture leaders.
We recognize that Camp U student-athletes are the best of the best. It is our goal to assemble those with the greatest potential and be one of the means of helping adolescents precociously function at the top. Camp U staff and special guests provide an engaging environment where student-athletes can work together and thoroughly enjoy the process of learning.
In the end, it is our vision that these student-athletes return to their respective communities (e.g., school, athletics, home, etc.) and ultimately the next phases of life with a greater capacity to perform in a qualitative and quantitative way. Through the means of leadership development, these elite student-athletes are empowered with a higher level of influence. In essence, Camp U Leadership supplies our schools, communities, businesses, and organizations with more effective leaders, directly contributing to national success.

Student-athlete selectees
We have teamed up with high school Principals and Athletic Directors from all across the state to select the top male and female student-athletes that are exceptional in each of the following three categories: 1) Academics 2) Athletics 3) Moral Character.
EVENTS Overview
Camp U provides extensive opportunities for student-athletes and staff to evaluate, analyze, and discuss what being an exceptional leader is all about. The camp is primarily focused on seven canons of effective leadership; four of which being intrapersonal (occurring within the individual mind or self), and the remaining three focusing on interpersonal concepts (pertaining to the interactions between persons). Aside from these canons of leadership, there are many other timeless concepts studied and practiced.
Catering to many different learning profiles, the camp consists of some of the following activities: analysis of inspirational stories/quotes/examples from some of the world’s greatest leaders, cooperative learning activities (e.g., group discussions, team-building activities, break-out sessions, competitions, etc.), special guests & keynote speakers, writing/thinking activities, inspirational movie segments, uplifting music, S.M.A.R.T. goal setting session (including the composition of a personal mission statement), and the consumption of great food!
